Our heritage madder collection is the result of a development in historical printing methods by our silk mill Adamley. By reformulating traditional dyes, and recovering patterns drawn up a century ago from the David Evans archive, the printers have created a silk as close as possible to the original fabric in terms of look, colour and the inimitable chalky handle.
Our collection presents madder at its best. Combining Adamley’s luxurious artisanal silk with a supple interlining, meticulously cut and sewn by hand, and unrivalled finishing, including a delicate hand-rolled tip, all made in England.
