Brown Japanese Cotton Officers Chino

The officer chino is a much-vaunted style, and for good reason: it moves through the increasingly casualised world of menswear with ease, sitting somewhere in the venn diagram of classic menswear, sportswear and military surplus.

They sit as happily under a vintage field jacket as a bespoke blazer, and take just as well to the Ivy playbook of oxford shirts and Shetland pullovers. We like the idea that these can be worn hard and machine washed, foregoing the crease, or pressed and dressed up with your favourite jacket. Or a bit of both.

Our version pays homage to the original while cutting no corners on the make: rear jetted pockets with flaps, a false waistband, a button fly, flat-felled seams and a jetted coin pocket. The cut is high-waisted and easy through the leg, with a faint taper to the hem, all without falling into costume. Made in England from a sturdy 350gsm Japanese twill, with Corozo buttons dyed to our own spec by one of the last buttonmakers in Gloucestershire.

Machine washable; expect minor shrinkage in length. All waists come with a 34" inseam except the 30" and 32", which come with 32". A further 4cm sits turned inside, so they hang well and give length for alterations.
