To start with the good: the Shetland tweed is beautiful and the perfect weight. The construction is also very nice. The pockets are elegantly shaped.

I do have some issues, primarily with the cut. It is very trim for a chore coat. The body tapers and creates somewhat of a tubular silhouette on body, which in my opinion is not ideal. The shoulders and forearms are quite narrow, so I am unable to layer more than a thin merino knit under it. The cuffs are also impractically small. They are smaller than the cuffs on most shirts I own, so in practice they pretty much have to be left undone.

For reference, I am 187 cm / 6'2" and weigh 80 kg/176 lbs with a slim build. I purchased a size L/42, my normal jacket size is 40 or 42.

Worth noting that the collar and cuffs are not lined like is shown in the product images. Would have been kind of nice had that detail been kept in the final production version for a nicer on skin experience.

Finally, I think this jacket would look more balanced without the bottom button. In my view, the jacket is too long to have a button so close to the hem, it just ends up being constricting when buttoned and looks "off". This is just personal preference and I do not dock the jacket any stars for this.

Overall, I am still keeping the jacket despite the aforementioned issues. I hope future versions will be improved.

Very well made and fits great

A fabulous garment. Like the best menswear it's elegant - quality make, gorgeous material - but understated. Sizing is spot on. I wear a 40R so bought a size M. It fits cleanly across the shoulders and is loose, but not oversize, in the body. The real joy is the material. It's a gorgeous, textured tweed that is warm but light, so being unlined it works both as a jacket and as an overshirt/ layering piece. It bridges casual tailoring and workwear/ Americana better than any similar Chore I've seen. A special shout out to Harry as well for the service. Within minutes of reaching out in the chat after hours they'd tracked down a garment in my size, arranged an order for me, and it arrived promptly, perfectly packaged in environmentally sound packaging. If you weren't lucky enough to grab one first time round, but your name down for the restock, it's the best purchase I've made this year.

Ordered the wrong size but got to experience first hand the exemplary customer service from HN White. My replacement jacket was in the post before I even had chance to return the initial order. When the replacement chore jacket arrived, I was delighted. The fit was perfect and the quality was never going to be anything other than top notch. A great jacket and a wonderful company. Thank you.
